Seasonal Maintenance Tips: Get Your Yard Ready for Fall
Seasonal Maintenance Tips: Get Your Yard Ready for Fall

Everyone knows a lush, green lawn makes your new home even more beautiful and adds tremendous curb appeal to your biggest investment.  But did you know your lawn also serves a major purpose as well?

A healthy lawn that has a solid root structure will help to:

  • Absorb water and nutrients well
  • Assist with properly draining water away from your home
  • Help prevent ponding in your yard

September is a good time to make a plan for your Fall Lawn Maintenance and begin to tackle those tasks.  There is more to do in fall than raking leaves.  If you take steps during this season, grass will return healthier and weed-free in the spring.

  • Pull weeds
  • Rake leaves and debris
  • Aerate, seed, and fertilize
  • Keep watering and cutting until the weather turns cooler

For tips to help maintain your lawn well through the fall, check out these articles from the National Association for Landscape Professionals and Virginia Green Lawncare for more information.
